sooo after finishing exams (WOOHOO) oh and might i mention how terrible the info sys100 exam was i totally guessed every question asked, but who cares cos its over and now i'm just praying that i passed the unit and that i don't have to repeat it *shudders*.
anyways.
abiding by my holiday-to-do-list, bullet point number 1 was to "watch alot of movies", and so i have started by watching this asian movie called "perhaps love" or "ru guo ai".
i'm sure most of u have heard about it end of last year sometime cos it was really well publicised. well, i just have to say that it is one of the MOST confusing movies that i have ever watched! you know how sometimes for the heck of it u switch on to sbs and watch those random european foreign films with subtitles and u have no idea on what is really happening? yeh, well this movie was like tht but 10 times worse! takeshi kaneshiro was in it, which i guess made it all worthwhile, but still!!!
it was so mind twisting! maybe it was just because i was too dumb to understand the plot, but it was so weird. its like a half musical, half movie. think moulin rouge with an even WEIRDER storyline.
its about these two lovers- the boy, an student studying theatre and the girl who wants to become an actress- who had a past but then got seperated because the girl wanted to go and pursure her acting career. 10 years later they meet again. they get cast into the same film and the movie is like a reflection of their past, only in the movie that they're acting in the girl loses her memory and doesn't remember the guy. here's the confusing bit- the movie keeps switching between flashbacks and the filming of the movie that they're making about the CHARACTERS past. and u just can't distinguish between what is the REAL story and which one is the story of the MOVIE. i bet i have confused u already. BUT to make matters worse, the director of the film, not "perhaps love" but the movie that is part of the storyline, has a history with the chick too!! so then that just complicates things further, AND then theres the korean dude from "da chang qing" that is some sort of 'emotion tax collector' and he disguises himself to each of the different characters helping them to realise their true emotions. ALSO, throughout the movie all the characters break out into song and this whole circus musical comes alive- which i guess is kinda cool to watch, but to understand the movie is a totally different concept.
haha, so anyone interested to borrow the dvd? lol.

and i HAVE watched that 'perhaps love'. yes, quite confusing... the only way i cud tell the difference btween past + present tense was if the girl was nice/talking to the guy or not.
